IThe besom has swept witches' thresholds for centuries, and almost none of that sweeping had anything to do with dirt.

A broom kept by the door was never only a household tool. It cleared what collected in a room when nobody was looking, the stale and the stuck and whatever followed somebody home. It stood guard across a threshold. It was laid down for couples to jump at a wedding and stood upside down in a corner when company had overstayed. Every household had one, and everybody knew it was doing more than one job.

This workshop is about making your own, sized for an altar rather than a floor. We will go through the lore, the correspondences, and what a besom is actually for, then build and dress a miniature broom with botanicals and charms chosen for the dark half of the year.

During our time together you will explore:

🧹 The folklore of the besom, and why it was never really about dust
🧹 Threshold sweeping and clearing stagnant energy from a room
🧹 Autumn and Samhain correspondences, from cinnamon and clove to rosemary and dried wheat
🧹 Building, binding, and dressing your miniature broom
🧹 Blessing it, placing it, and keeping it working through the dark months

Every ticket includes all materials and a finished besom to take home for your altar and your autumn workings.

No experience necessary.

The body and soul balm is WONDERFUL. It’s a must for in my nightstand drawer. Feeling overwhelmed or stressed? Rub it in your hands, put your hands in front of your face, take a couple deep breaths. It’s magic. Headache? Rub some of its magical goodness on your temples and sinuses. Chest cold? Rub that stuff on your chest instead of traditional vapor rub. It was the only way I could sleep when I was sick. Broken body or born in the 1900’s? Rub it on the areas that ache before bed and wake up feeling relief

It was a life saver when I was in physical therapy for my SI joint problems!
